Featuring Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Dhawan and Taapsee Pannu in leading roles, latest Bollywood movie ‘Judwaa 2’ started its box office journey on a higher note. With a positive word of mouth, the romantic comedy film witnessed 70-80% occupancy on opening day. Directed by popular filmmaker David Dhawan, the Hindi film collected Rs 16.10 crore income on first day of its release.
Facing increase in the number of audiences gathering in cinema halls, the comedy flick earned a whopping box office collection on 2nd day. Being a national holiday due to Hindu festival Dussehra, Saturday was very much beneficial for the movie to attract a major chunk of the film-watchers in the country. The film collected Rs 20.55 crore on second day of its release.
The Hindi movie not only performed well in domestic arena but also received a good response in the overseas. Witnessing moderate occupancy in the foreign countries, the movie bagged a total amount of Rs 2 crore in the international market. Worldwide box office collection of the movie surpassed Rs 50 crore mark within two days of the film’s release.
In United Kingdom, Varun Dhawan’s movie received maximum response. The Bollywood offering minted Rs 0.40 crore in UK. In Australia and New Zealand, performance of the celluloid wasn’t up to the mark. The Hindi celluloid garnered a total business of Rs 0.14 crore in Australia. Receiving poor response, the comedy movie bagged Rs 0.16 crore income in New Zealand.
