Renowned filmmaker Simple Suni’s latest directorial venture has managed to perform well at Kannada box office. Titled as ‘Chamak’, the Kollywood offering collected an income of Rs 3.90 crore in three days. Facing minor box office clash with the adjacently released south Indian movies, the latest film succeeded in catching the attention of a good number of audience in the cinema halls.
Commencing the box office journey on a poor note, Ganesh and Rashmika Mandanna starrer new south Indian celluloid faced moderate occupancy on opening day. Witnessing around 2-3% occupancy in the cinema halls, the film garnered Rs 1.2 crore on first day of release.
After facing a decent start to box office journey, the romantic comedy film showcased slight improvement in its performance on following day. Receiving more response from movie-watchers on Saturday, the Kannada movie earned Rs 1.3 crore on 2nd day and bagged a total income of Rs 2.5 crore in 2 days.
Produced under the banner of ‘Crystal Park Cinemas’, the family entertainer experienced growth in the public response on Sunday. Facing highest occupancy in the theatres and multiplexes, the latest south Indian flick amassed Rs 1.4 crore on 3rd day of its release and pocketed an overall revenue of Rs 3.90 crore in 3 days.
Though the Kannada movie grossed satisfactory box office collection at India’s box office, it failed to grab the attention of audiences in foreign countries. Confronting with the latest Hollywood cinemas, the south Indian movie could not attract a big audience in overseas and registered poor business in the international market.
