Released on 29th December 2017, new Tamil movie ‘Balloon’ collected Rs 2.21 crore total box office collection in 4 days. Directed by illustrious filmmaker Sinish Sreedharan, the latest Tamil horror film didn’t collect huge revenue in international market and raked in an overall income of Rs 2.3 crore in four days.
Produced by renowned filmmakers Dhilip Subbarayan, Arun Balaji and Nandakumar, the newly released Tamil horror celluloid witnessed moderate occupancy on first day of its release in India. Hitting screens on Friday, the movie received average response from the audiences and collected Rs 0.6 crore on opening day.
Taking a decent start to the box office journey, the new Tamil cinema faced slight increment in the number of footfalls in cinema halls on Saturday and raked in Rs 0.65 crore on 2nd day of release. Featuring Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer in leading roles, the latest south Indian movie garnered Rs 1.25 crore in two days.
Experiencing little increase the theatre occupancy on Sunday, the movie collected Rs 0.7 crore income on third day of its release. The movie witnessed highest occupancy in the morning shows and faced a gradual decline in the same by the end of the day. In night shows, the film could not receive maximum response as plenty were busy celebrating the arrival of new year.
In overseas, the film got very less screens and could not earn the expected box office collection at worldwide box office. Though the celluloid received low response at domestic platform, it did not manage to attract sufficient film-watchers in the foreign countries.
