Farhan Akhtar starrer newly released Bollywood movie ‘Lucknow Central’ bagged Rs 12.38 crore total box office collection in first week. Directed by Ranjit Tiwari, the Hindi offering started well in opening weekend, but unfortunately faced massive drop in the audiences’ response in week days. The film witnessed a huge box office clash with adjacently released ‘Simran’, which raked in a total income of Rs 15.48 crore in 1st week.
Commencing the overall box office journey on a decent note, Farhan Akhtar’s latest venture minted Rs 2.04 crore total business on 1st day. Witnessing steady response from the movie-watchers on following day, the celluloid earned Rs 2.82 crore on Saturday. By earning Rs 3.56 crore on third day, overall collection of the film became Rs 8.42 crore in first weekend.
After grossing an average income in the opening weekend, the Hindi offering faced huge drop in the film-watchers’ response. Receiving poor response from the spectators in cinema halls, the Bollywood flick collected Rs 1.14 crore on fourth day of its release. The movie showcased no improvement in its performance on Indian box office and raked in Rs 1.02 crore income on fifth day.
Continuing to receive declined response from the movie-goers, the Hindi celluloid collected Rs 0.95 crore on sixth day of its release. On seventh day, the movie registered a business of Rs 0.85 crore. The Bollywood film drove lesser attentions of the audiences in overseas as newly released Hollywood movies had a good hold in the cinema halls and multiplexes across several foreign countries. Thus, the Hindi movie didn’t earn a huge income in the international market.
