Malayalam Movie Ira 3rd Weekend Box Office Collection
Newly released Malayalam movie ‘Ira’ received poor response from the audiences in third weekend and made a collection of Rs 0.1 crore on 17th day of its release in India. Directed by south Indian filmmaker Saiju S. S., the Malayalam language film collected a total amount of Rs 1.72 crore by the third weekend. Though the film received positive feedback from the audiences, it failed to meet the trade analysts’ expectations of crossing Rs 5 crore mark India’s box office.
Produced under the banner of ‘Udaykrishna Productions’, the Malayalam movie was released on less than 500 screens in Kerala on 2nd March this year. As the film was released on limited number of screens in the cinema halls located in major cities of the Malayalam speaking state, the movie witnessed a decent public response in the thetares. The Malayalam thriller movie made a business of Rs 0.7 crore in the opening week.
Witnessing steady decline in the theatre occupancy in 2nd weekend, the south Indian film registered a business of Rs 0.3 crore in second weekend. By the end of 10th day of release, the Malayalam language movie earned Rs 1 crore total box office collection in India. In week days, the thriller film witnessed huge drop in the theatre occupancy and ended up earning a total amount of Rs 1.5 crore at the end of 14th day of release.
After bagging a total collection of Rs 1.5 crore at the Kerala Box Office in two weeks, Saiju’s directorial reported steady drop in the earnings as well as in the public response in the third weekend. The Malayalam language film collected an amount of Rs 0.2 crore in 3rd weekend. The film’s total collection at Kerala Box Office is expected to cross Rs 2 crore mark at the end of 4th week.
