Latest Bollywood movie ‘Vodka Diaries’ witnessed decent occupancy on opening day and raked in Rs 0.25 crore box office collection on first day of its release. Kushla Srivastava’s directorial venture failed to impress the audiences in domestic arena as well as in the international market. The movie is expected to gain steady response in the weekend days.
Featuring well reputed actors Kay Kay Memon and Raima Sen in leading roles, the newly released Hindi celluloid took poor start to its box office journey in India. Facing massive box office competition with adjacently released Bollywood movies ‘My Birthday Song’ and ‘Nirdosh’, the Hindi film received moderate response from moviegoers on opening day.
Starring Mandira Bedi and Sharib Hashmi in supporting roles, the new Bollywood flick reported average occupancy in the morning shows. After the critics reviewed the film with mixed feedback, the public response remained stagnant in the noon shows. In evening shows, the movie witnessed gradual surge in the theatre occupancy which remained steady in the night shows on Friday.
Produced by Kushal Srivastava, the thriller film experienced immense competition with Hollywood movies at the worldwide box office. Releasing on very few number of screens in United States of America, Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand and United Kingdom, the newly released Bollywood celluloid gained low response from the cinema-watchers.
The film hit very few number of screens in south Asian countries and failed to fetch expected earnings on the first day. Grabbing the attention of less number of film-watchers in the foreign countries, the latest thriller movie could not earn expected box office collection on 1st day of release.
Adjacently released Hindi movies ‘Nirdosh’ and ‘My Birthday Song’ too witnessed decent occupancy in the cinema halls as the major chunk of audience is still attracted towards Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer latest Bollywood film ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’. Ali Abbas Jafar’s directorial has a strong hold in the theatres and multiplexes across various cities in central Indian states.
The latest Bollywood movies released on very less number of screens in south Indian states. Newly released Tamil movie ‘Thaanaa Serndha Kottam’ has acquired more than 80% possession in the cinema halls situated in Tamil speaking regions. Balkrishna’s latest Telugu film ‘Jai Simha’ too has divulged a big number of spectators in the theatres located in Telugu speaking regions.
