Latest Marathi movie ‘Zindagi Virat’, which released on limited number of screens on 29th September 2017, received decent response from the audiences on opening day. The multi-starrer comedy drama film reportedly raked in poor box office collection on first day of its release in various cities in Maharashtra.
Featuring Om Bhutkar, Bhalchandra Kadam and Kishor Kadam in prominent roles, the drama offering received mixed reviews from the critics. Directed by famous filmmaker Sumit Sanghamitra, ‘Zindagi Virat’ witnessed moderate footfalls of spectators in the cinema halls and multiplexes across the Marathi speaking state.
Being a working day, first day of release wasn’t quite helpful for the movie to earn satisfactory box office amount. Parallel release ‘Baapjanma’ too faced similar kind of situation due to the severe box office competition with other cinemas. In all shows throughout the day, public response for the film was quite low as compared to the audiences response witnessed by the recently released Bollywood movies.
Box office clash with ‘Judwaa 2’ and the adjacently released Marathi films seems to have affected the overall performance of ‘Zindagi Virat’. Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu starrer latest romcom movie garnered Rs 15.55 crore on opening day. Witnessing enormous occupancy on 1st day, the Hindi film kick started its box office journey on higher note.
