Sumit Sanghamitra’s new directorial venture didn’t witness massive surge in the theatre occupancy on Saturday and Sunday. The Marathi celluloid continued to receive moderate response from the film-watchers on 2nd and 3rd day of its release. Featuring Kishor Kadam, Om Bhutkar and Bhalchandra Kadam in prominent roles, the Marathi film minted steady box office collection in weekend days.
Releasing on very few screens in the Marathi speaking state, the comedy drama cinema started its box office journey on decent note. The celluloid witnessed average number of footballs of the movie-watchers in cinema halls on second day of its release. The Marathi offering reported steady occupancy in morning, noon, evening as well as night shows on Saturday.
Facing box office competition with adjacently released Marathi film ‘Baapjanma’, the latest comedy celluloid could drive poor attention of spectators in the cinema halls. The film’s business got affected due the parallel release and it also couldn’t perform well in the overseas. ‘Zindagi Virat’ received dull response in the foreign countries and grossed very low collection in international market.
In first weekend, the movie’s performance wasn’t up to the mark as it experienced a huge box office clash with the new Bollywood and dubbed Hollywood films. Trade analysts have predicted that the celluloid will witness gradual decline in the public response in week days. The multi-starrer Marathi movie is expected to collect lesser earnings in the first week.
