Agent South Movie Review :Agent, the latest spy thriller directed by Surender Reddy and produced by AK Entertainments and Surender 2 Cinema, has been released in Indian theatres on April 28th, 2023. Akhil Akkineni plays Ramakrishna ‘Ricky,’ a RAW agent with a strange past on a mission to unearth the truth about a hazardous terrorist organisation.

The film begins with Ricky’s childhood ambition of becoming a RAW agent coming true when he meets RAW Chief Colonel Mahadev, played by Mammootty. The film, however, falls short of expectations due to overacting by the star actor, Vikram, who plays Deva, a former RAW agent turned criminal genius.

The film’s major flaw is the incorrect placing of songs, which slows the pace and distracts the audience from the plot. The background music is also subpar and fails to make the desired impact. Furthermore, the lead actor’s (Vikram) long hair reminds the audience of the film ‘Aparichit,’ making it difficult to connect with his character.

The special effects are awful and appear artificial, which is a significant letdown for the film. The audience expects top-tier visual effects in a high-budget spy thriller, but Agent South falls short.

Mammootty, Dino Morea, Sakshi Vaidya, and Vikramjeet Virk star in the film, however their performances fall short due to the film’s bad writing and directing. Mammootty’s RAW Chief Colonel Mahadev, who gives a decent performance, is the only character who makes an impression.

Everyone learns from the film why they should not make films. The premise is predictable, and the narrative lacks suspense and thrills. The action sequences are badly coordinated, and the dialogue lacks the oomph that an espionage thriller requires.

In conclusion, despite its huge budget of 80 crore, Agent South fails to impress the audience. The film got a 5.3/10 rating on IMDB, a 1.9/5 rating from Times of India, and a 2.2/5 rating from Gadgets 360. It’s a bad spy thriller that’s not worth your time or money.
