Maidaan Movie Wiki 2023: Maidaan is an upcoming Indian sports drama movie directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla. The film features Ajay Devgan, Priyamani, Nitanshi Goel, Aryann Bhowmik, Gajraj Rao, Rudranil Ghosh, Rohit Mondal, Rishabh Joshi, Diego Torres Kuri, and Akshay Kumar in a special appearance. The movie is based on the life of Syed Abdul Rahim, who is regarded as the father of modern Indian football. The movie is set to release on 23rd June 2023.

Storyline

The movie is based on the golden era of Indian football from 1952 to 1962. Ajay Devgan plays the role of Syed Abdul Rahim, the football coach, who is credited with shaping the modern Indian football team. The film depicts how India qualified for the Olympics twice, just five years after gaining independence. It showcases the struggles of the team as they played barefoot, without any shoes. The movie also portrays the relationship between Syed Abdul Rahim and his wife, played by Priyamani, and his daughter, played by Nitanshi Goel.
